About me

I am a UKCP Psychotherapist in Training with Regent's University London, from where I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a trainee member of UCKP and an individual member of BACP. I also hold a Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children using the Arts from IATE, and have an interest in incorporating the arts and creativity within my practice as a therapist.

I have worked in education for most of my professional life, as a primary school teacher, researcher in musical identity, and university lecturer in creativity and music education. Since 2022 I have been volunteering as a counsellor in a university wellbeing service.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy invites us to explore the questions of who we are and how we are choosing to live in the world. It recognises our capacity for growth whilst offering a space to explore our responses to unavoidable limitations. Existential therapy focuses on the context for issues and challenges we are facing, encouraging us to put the feelings we have about our lives into words and to understand the meaning of thoughts, feelings, behaviours or symptoms we are experiencing. Through this exploration, we can discover the options we have available to us and the choices we can make about how we live our lives.
